Solar2Chem consortium was one of the organizers of the EU Green Week event “Towards Zero Pollution in the Production of Green Fuels and Chemicals” which took place online the 4th of June 2021.

During the webinar, technologies for distributed production of chemicals with direct solar energy conversion and for integration of renewable energy with catalytic processes were presented reporting examples from six projects recently funded by EU Commission: FLOWPHOTOCHEM (www.flowphotochem.eu), SUNCOCHEM (www.suncochem.eu), DECADE (www.decadeproject.eu), OCEAN (www.spire2030.eu/ocean), RECODE (www.recodeh2020.eu), SOLAR2CHEM.

The European strategy for a zero-emission industrial sector and SUNERGY initiative (www.sunergy-initiative.eu) were also presented to show how academia, industry and policy-makers can interact in the sector of solar fuels and chemicals production to achieve the climate change targets for 2050 defined by the EU Green Deal.
